Concert Rescheduled to John Mayer

The John Mayer concert wasn't supposed to start until 7 p.m., but the concert still had to be postponed. You can see a video of John Mayer performing a song called "Covered In Rain" on YouTube. On Sunday it was Mayer's Hershey Park Stadium stage covered in rain. So much so, the concert had to be postponed.
"There was water inside the drums. There was water in the piano," said Hershey Park Stadium Spokesperson Melissa Stradnick. "There was water in places the crew didn't even know the water could get to and the crazy part, everything was covered in tarps." Video shot by the road crew as rain ripped sideways through the stage is posted on John Mayer's website, along with a message about the show being postponed until Aug. 5. All the concert gear and instruments have to be dried out and shipped to Cincinnati for a Mayer concert on Tuesday. Clair Brothers from Lititz in Lancaster County, had to move soggy sound equipment. Even the 50-foot video screen on stage has water inside of it. Fans are being used to dry out overhead spotlights that had to be taken apart because they were so wet. Some John Mayer fans who can't make the postponed show are not happy and would rather have a refund. "Hersheypark should have done something to make this situation right, because John Mayer is representing them," abc27 viewer Ashley Campbell said to us in an e-mail. But as with most concerts that are postponed but not canceled - no refunds. "Mother Nature had other intentions yesterday, and it wasn't for a John Mayer concert," said Stradnick. The John Mayer concert with Train is rescheduled for Thursday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. Anyone with questions can call the Hersheypark Box Office at 534-3911.
